Privacy Policy

Astrolix is operated by Astrolix AI, a registered business based in Australia ("Astrolix", "we", "us" or "our"). This policy explains what personal information we collect when you use Astrolix, why we collect it, who we share it with, and the choices and rights you have. We handle personal information in line with the Australian Privacy Principles under the Privacy Act 1988 (Cth), and we honour the rights described below for users in the EU/UK and California as well.

Information we collect

Account information. When you create an account we collect your email address and a display name. If you register with a password, we store it only as a securely hashed value (never in plain text). If you sign in with Google, we receive a Google account identifier and your email in place of a password.

Birth data. To calculate charts, you provide birth details such as names, birth dates, birth times and birth places (cities). This includes details of any other people you choose to add (for example for composite or relationship charts). Some of this may be treated as sensitive information, and we handle it accordingly.

Your content and conversations. We store the charts you save and the messages you exchange with the Astrolix AI so that your history is available to you across sessions.

Subscription and payment information. If you subscribe to a paid plan, payment is processed by Stripe. We do not see or store your full card details; we keep a Stripe customer identifier and your current plan and usage so we can provide the service and enforce message limits.

Usage information. We keep basic operational data such as your daily message count, referral activity and account timestamps, and our hosting provider processes standard technical logs (such as IP address and request data) needed to run and secure the service.

How we use your information

We use your information to calculate and interpret charts, to provide the AI chat and keep your history, to create and secure your account and verify your email, to process subscriptions and apply usage limits, to operate the referral programme, to respond to your requests, and to protect Astrolix and its users from abuse. We do not sell your personal information, and we do not use your birth data or conversations for advertising.

Who we share it with

We share personal information only with the service providers we rely on to run Astrolix, and only as needed:

• Anthropic— the messages you send in chat, together with the relevant chart context, are sent to Anthropic's Claude AI to generate responses.
• Google — if you choose to sign in with Google, to authenticate you.
• Stripe — to process subscription payments.
• Resend — to send account emails such as verification links.
• Railway — our hosting and database provider, which stores the data described above on our behalf.

Each provider handles your data under its own privacy terms. We may also disclose information where required by law, or to protect the rights, safety and property of Astrolix or others.

Overseas disclosure

Some of the providers above store or process data on servers located outside Australia, including in the United States and other countries. By using Astrolix you acknowledge that your information may be processed overseas by these providers.

How long we keep it

We keep your account and saved charts for as long as your account is active. Chat conversations are retained for 30 days and then automatically deleted. When you delete a chart, or ask us to delete your account, we remove the associated data, except where we are required to keep limited records (for example, for tax or legal reasons).

Your rights

You can access and correct much of your information directly in the app, and you can delete individual charts and conversations at any time. You may also ask us to access, correct or delete your personal information, or to close your account, by contacting us at the address below. If you are in the EU, the UK or California, you have additional rights under the GDPR, UK GDPR or CCPA/CPRA (such as data portability and the right to object), and we will honour those requests.

Security

We take reasonable steps to protect your information, including hashing passwords and restricting access to your data to your own account. No online service can be completely secure, but we work to keep your information safe.

Cookies and local storage

Astrolix uses your browser's local storage to keep you signed in and to remember basic preferences such as your chosen chart. We do not use third-party advertising or tracking cookies.

Children

Astrolix is not intended for children under 16. If you believe a child has provided us with personal information, please contact us and we will delete it.

Changes to this policy

We may update this policy from time to time. When we do, we will change the date at the top of this page, and significant changes will be reflected here.
